The local church was instituted by the Lord Jesus for the benefit of the body of Christ, which is composed of all the believers.  In the local church, you will find Pastors, Deacons and fellow believers that together will guide you your new life as a disciple of the Lord Jesus.  It is in the local church that you will be educated in the Scripture and doctrines in which you will be taught how to live your life according to those teachings.  The local church will provide support, encouragement, and guidance which will enable us to love God in obedience to Him.  It is a place for you to use the gifts given by God for the benefit of your fellow brethren.  The local church is a place in which you will grow in Christ along with your new spiritual family, the family of believers also known as the universal church.
